"Keep a bad drawing until by study you have found out why it is bad."

Drawing forms the basis of all of my work; sketches, doodles, and bare-boned outlines all become something- a mug, a painting, a large, full-color illustration, maybe a stuffed animal.
Drawing is planning, so I spend a lot more time drawing than anything else.
I typically work with India/Acrylic ink and a dip pen, but do occasionally use Micron pens, charcoal, and rarely pastels. I enjoy creating illustrations about stories from my life or tales I've heard from others. I like to think of myself as a folk historian, documenting and researching the creatures and tales I come across.
When I'm not in the headspace to draw with pencils or ink, I'll use acrylic paints or watercolors. I don't approach them much differently than ink or graphite, continuing to focus on line.
If prints/originals are available, the image's title will link you to their store page. If an image does not have prints available, email me and I'll make them available for you if possible. For original or commision inquiries, email me.
